Womens’ Foil - Champions

Apparently all the clubs in the Eastern Region were too scared to face us. Oh well. Where's the Trophy Cabinet?

Unfortunately the club had to take the desperate measure of wheeling out the Old Crock for this one.

WON 45-44 v Salle Rose (Felixstowe)
Alysia Schuetzle plus Eastern Region captain Jos Hoffmans-Clarke was quite formidable opposition to face. But after a 10 point deficit clawback by Joanne, and with the help of Mariette Mason and Jazz in her first team event, we actually managed to go into the last fight with a lead. In a nerve-jangling finale, Jos pulled it back to 44-44 for them, but it was Joanne who landed the winning hit!

LOST 43-45 v CADS (Colchester)
We predictably lost points against both Eryn Spinlove (Eastern champion) & Anneliese Skinner (Essex champion), but Mariette was on equally great form for us. With a 5 point deficit going into the final fight, Joanne was making good progress and almost equalised the score against Eryn, but ultimately it proved too much.
